# Max Front Knee Valgus (Normalized)

> Maximum inward (valgus) collapse of the front knee during the serve, expressed as a multiple of athlete height.

* **Measurement:** Maximum medial (inward) displacement of the front knee during the serve, divided by athlete height

## Description

Max front knee valgus (normalized) measures how far the front knee collapses inward, toward the centerline of the body, at its most extreme point during the serve, expressed as a multiple of the athlete's height. More negative values indicate greater inward collapse. It is closely related to the [Loading Phase Excessive Knee Valgus](/biomechanics/activities/tennis/flags/loading-phase-excessive-knee-valgus) movement flag.
