## Technical Details

* **Variable Type:** Discrete Metric
* **Data Type:** Float
* **Units:** degrees (°)
* **Column Name:** `loading_phase_ball_toss_angle`
* **Measurement:** Angle between wrist and shoulders at [Ball Release](/biomechanics/activities/tennis/events/ball-release)
  * 90° = arm directly in front of non-dominant shoulder
  * 180° = arm positioned sideways from torso

## Description

Ball release angle describes where the arm is positioned relative to the shoulders at ball release event.
It affects toss consistency and timing.
Values are typically between 90° (directly in front of non-dominant shoulder) and 180° (arm fully sideways from torso).

## Use Cases

* Toss placement and consistency
* Timing and rhythm
* Coaching feedback
