Technical Details

  • Variable Type: Movement Flag
  • Data Type: Integer
  • Units: N/A
  • Column Name: loading_phase_pinpoint_break
  • Optimal Direction: Lower is better
  • Unknown Value: -1
  • Measurement: Front ankle position relative to back ankle (in the serve direction) at Low Arm
  • Threshold: Front ankle is further forward than the back ankle at low arm

Description

Loading phase pinpoint break is a binary indicator that flags when a player breaks their pinpoint stance. This occurs if the back ankle (dominant side) moves forward closer to the baseline than the front ankle (non-dominant side) at the low arm event. Breaking the pinpoint position can reduce base stability during the loading phase.

Use Cases

  • Stance consistency assessment
  • Mechanics evaluation
