Overview
The backhand is a groundstroke in which the ball is struck on the side of the body opposite the dominant hand (or with the non-dominant hand in front in a two-handed backhand). It can be played with one or two hands and with different grips and swing paths (e.g., slice vs topspin). Backhand mechanics involve trunk rotation, shoulder and arm coordination, and lower-body drive; technique varies considerably between one-handed and two-handed styles and between players.Dimensions
