Technical Details

  • Variable Type: Discrete Metric
  • Data Type: Float
  • Units: degrees (°)
  • Column Name: Varies by squat type (see Events/Phases)
  • Measurement: Maximum knee flexion angle during the squat

Events / Phases

  • Bodyweight / Overhead (bilateral): peak_left_knee_flexion_angle, peak_right_knee_flexion_angle.
  • Single leg: peak_knee_flexion_angle (stance leg only)
  • SFMA: sfma_squat_left_knee_peak_angle, sfma_squat_right_knee_peak_angle

Description

Peak knee flexion is the maximum knee flexion angle achieved during the squat, typically at or around Bottom. It reflects knee range of motion and loading depth. Bilateral squats report left and right; single-leg and SFMA report per side as applicable.

Use Cases

  • Knee mobility and range of motion
  • Bilateral comparison
  • Movement quality and consistency
