Technical Details

  • Variable Type: Discrete Metric
  • Data Type: Float
  • Units: degrees (°)
  • Column Name: lunge_forward_max_right_hip_flexion_angle, lunge_forward_max_left_hip_flexion_angle
  • Aggregation: mean
  • Precision: 0
  • Optimal Direction: Higher is better
  • Measurement: Maximum hip flexion angle from Initiation to End

Description

Max hip flexion angle is the greatest hip flexion achieved by each leg during the lunge. The front (lead) leg typically shows larger hip flexion as it bears load in the deep position, while the rear leg stays neutral or extends slightly. Both sides are reported regardless of footedness.

Use Cases

  • Hip range of motion assessment
  • Bilateral hip mobility comparison
  • Loading strategy and lunge depth analysis
