# Right Displacement

> Lateral (side-to-side) displacement during landing.

## Technical Details

* **Variable Type:** Discrete Metric
* **Data Type:** Float
* **Units:** meters (m)
* **Column Name:** (varies by jump type)
* **Aggregation:** mean
* **Precision:** 2
* **Optimal Direction:** Lower is better
* **Measurement:** Lateral displacement of the body (mid pelvis keypoint) between takeoff and landing
* **Direction:** right positive (+), left negative (-)

## Description

Right displacement (or lateral displacement) quantifies how far the athlete moves sideways (left-right) during the jump.
Excessive lateral displacement can indicate reduced control or balance and is relevant for single-leg and bilateral landings.

## Use Cases

* Landing stability and control
* Balance assessment
* Screening for excessive drift
